Join us on Shavuot for an eventful evening in the Fifth Space
Program:
- 18:00 - the most beautiful rooftop in town features a celebratory spread: an urban Shavuot meal. You’re welcome to bring your favorite holiday dishes or enjoy some wine and cheese from Habanot.
- 20:00 - Kinetanyahu - a wild skit mixing mythological, folkloristic, and political texts that traverse hope and disillusionment, erupting laughter, and moving public ceremony. By Elderly People with Background Illnesses: Naomi Yoeli, Prof. Shimon Levy, Yuval Meskin, and Yossi Mar-Chaim.
- 21:15 - Microcosm - six singers, a cello, and a violin weave a 360-degree performance, a singular, timeless work. Composer Béla Bartók (one of the greatest musicians of the twentieth century) traveled across villages in Europe, documenting ancient traditions through samples of folk songs. Conductor Neta Spiegel adapted these into a musical performance - an in-depth study of collaborative, communal act influenced by folk singing, contemporary rhythm, and emotional depth.
The Fifth Space is a project that outlines the private-public rooftop of the Liebling Haus as a new public area. Part of Welcome to the Re_Public exhibition.
